It's gonna exist a long, hot summer

Happy Caturday, my darling! I hope y'all're having a wonderful morning then far, and I hope y'all're feeling refreshed and ready for a fun weekend.

Information technology's a lovely day hither in Northern California. Nothing but blue sky from rolling hills to rolling hills. Information technology looks like information technology's gonna exist a hot ane, too, which is why I have my pilus in a Dutch braid.

GURL, I've been all about the Dutch complect lately.

Information technology'south basically an inverted French braid, where instead of pulling the hairs over when you lot braid, you pull them nether so the braid kind of pops out, and yous tin arrive, like, all poofy-looking and larger than life if yous loosen up the hairs after you tie the terminate, which has the added benefit of not giving me a throbbing headache like some tightly braided styles tin.

All about the Dutch Braids

I honey the whole messy braid tendency… I rue the day if/when they go out of style, because this i hither took me less than five minutes, and I was able to practice it without having to look in a mirror!

WHAT?! Aye.

I also rue the day when big, bushy eyebrows leave of style because it took me forever and a twenty-four hour period to grow mine out. I'k sure information technology's simply a affair of time…

Wow, it'southward already getting hot hither, and it'due south not even 8:thirty. I judge it's appropriate that I'chiliad wearing the $45 limited edition NARS Long Hot Summer Eyeshadow Palette.

The NARS Long Hot Summer Palette

Isn't it a cutie pie? Six powder eyeshadows — a beige, a taupe, 2 coppers, a deep brownish and a beautiful light gray — and it fits in the palm of my hand. The top row has some cooler-toned neutrals, and the bottom row has warmer tones.

I've been wearing the palette all calendar week long, and it gets extra points for not taking upwardly much space in my already overloaded makeup pocketbook. It should exist a corking travel companion if I have whatever trips this summertime.

Speaking of trips, I gotta get on that. I'yard thinking, though, that information technology might be too hard to travel with a baby. I dunno… Moms, give me your thoughts on that.

I likewise like that the palette has a squeamish mix of cool and warm tones, because you know how it goes with some neutral palettes. You lot either get warm or absurd tones. You don't always become both.

These shadows too offset off all punchy and pigmented only fade in a beautiful way throughout the day. In the case of the shimmery shades, they glisten more than toward the end of the day, getting to where you wait like you've been dancing in the front end row at a music festival for three straight hours.

Information technology's pretty absurd.

In other news, and I can't believe I'grand saying this, just I'm super obsessed with this freakin' Justin Bieber video for his song Pitiful.

OK, did I just say that out loud? Absolutely, I'k not the biggest JB fan, but I'm not extremely familiar with his work, and I know that he'southward gotten into problem a few times.

But whatever. I heard this song on the radio and had to expect it upward online. The choreography is so much fun! There'south so much booty shaking and hip swaying — I freakin' dearest it! Oh, my gosh, I haven't taken a dance form in years, but it'southward making me want to dance over again.

Plus, there are several girls in the video wearing those '90s contruction boots that I rocked back in the day.

I wonder whatever happened to those boots… I recall I gave them away? I wore them every day for like two years. I remember that my anxiety were always hella hot in them, and my arches hurt like a mother, LOL!

Oh, remember how I went on and on concluding week about how happy I was to exist getting back into painting my nails? Well, I painted them again! Aye! Small victories. 🙂 I'm wearing long-lasting Smith & Cult Faunteleroy ($eighteen), a low-cal, creamy lilac. You tin can see it here in this random moving picture with my Mrs. Meyer'southward Lilac Dish Soap.

Let's see… I painted my nails with it on Sunday night, and now it'south Saturday morn, so that's Monday, Tuesday, Midweek, Thursday, Fri… That's v full days with barely a chip! For me, corking at all.

Smith & Cult is a little on the pricey side ($eighteen a bottle), but I think they're worth tracking downwards. Adept wear fourth dimension, and they dry pretty quickly in 10-15 minutes, which is great because with the baby needing a lot of attention, the last thing I demand is to await 30 minutes for my nails to dry.

Before I forget, that Mrs. Meyers Lilac Dish Soap ($3.99), by the style, smells like a walk with blank feet through a fancy manicured garden at the scissure of dawn while surrounded by blooming lilacs.

Simply in example you were wondering. 🙂

SO Expert. It's express edition. If you lot're interested, I spotted it on the finish cap in the dish soap alley at Target.

Earlier I go, hither are a few stories I ran across this week that I idea you lot might like…

  • Shiseido but bought Laura Mercier and the skin care make Revive. Information technology'll exist interesting to see how/if they expand LM over the next few years.
  • It's coming: the "Sephorization of beauty aisles." Lots of beauty stores and dazzler departments are going the Sephora road with, like, all their testers out on display and then customers have easy access to them. What do you call up virtually that?
  • Lastly, this video has been around for almost a year, but I just found it (ever late to the political party). It's about MAC and features Frank Tonkson, one of the founders, talking about the origins of the brand.

OK, cutie-patootie, I'm off! Connor Claire and I are going for a walk around the neighborhood before it gets too hot. Take a wonderful weekend, and have a plunge in the puddle for me, will ya? 🙂

Karen
